What's left behind the scenes

The exterior shots of the castle feature Orava Castle, located on a cliff near the village of Oravský Podzámok in Slovakia. This same castle is shown in the classic horror film 'Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror'.
In his old age, Dracula resembles Gary Oldman's portrayal of the character in the movie 'Dracula'; Dracula's attire (including the long coat, etc.) is a reference to Christopher Lee's costume in 'Dracula'; and Dracula's dining attire, including the red amulet, recalls the classic image created by Bela Lugosi.
