What's left behind the scenes
- On the wall in the room of the character played by Jordan Alexa Davis hangs a poster of Alphonse Mucha's 1913 work, Zdenka Cerny, The Greatest Bohemian Violincellist.
- The film's plot contains several departures from the text of the source novel of the same name (2012) by William Landay, who also served as one of the screenwriters. After the trial, the family goes to Jamaica instead of Mexico. The parents of Jacob, played by Jaden Martell, notice something red staining his shirt after the disappearance of the character played by Jessie Кейс. Subsequently, Jessie Кейс's character is found dead on the shore, Jacob dies in a car accident, and the condition of his mother, played by Michelle Dockery, is listed as critical.
