What's left behind the scenes
- Screenwriter Makoto Yukimura stated that one of his sources of inspiration while working on this project was the anime series "Berserk" (1997-1998).
- The story of the character voiced by Naoya Uchida is based on the life of Olaf Pavlin, one of the wealthiest landowners in Iceland at the turn of the 1st and 2nd millennia, who played a significant role in the state's politics and was the main character of the "Laxdaela Saga," written in the 13th century.
- The character voiced by Yuto Uemura is based on the real-life Viking Thorfinn Karlsefni, who participated in the expeditions of Leif Erikson (the discoverer of mainland North America) and was a relative of the legendary king Ragnar Lothbrok.
