What's left behind the scenes
- The series is inspired by the graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag.
- A significant portion of the devices and buildings shown in the series are borrowed from the illustrations of Simon Stålenhag's eponymous book (2014). However, the script required certain devices that were not present in the original book. Screenwriter Nathaniel Halpern wanted the new devices to match the overall visual style, so he asked Stålenhag to serve as a consultant. Stålenhag even created some of the props, such as the prosthetic arm for George, played by Paul Schneider.
