Surviving Brandenburg

László Kovács is an auteur filmmaker who faces a personal crisis after being denied funding for a new project. Struggling with his professional standing and health, he initially finds comfort in a relationship with a woman from a nearby village. However, when a right-wing populist becomes the sole candidate for mayor in a small community of 120 people, László decides to run as a liberal opponent to stop him. This political battle puts both his well-being and his marriage to his successful wife at risk.

This German comedy was released on April 11, 2024. It was produced by Next Film and directed by Zoltan Paul and Ben von Grafenstein. The film features a cast that includes Joachim Paul Assböck as Weidland, László I. Kish as Karcsi, Adele Neuhauser as Emma Meisel, Dietrich Hollinderbäumer as Fritz Meisel, Sabine Waibel as Lisa Mühlberg, and Werner Eng as Mario.
