Very Bad Things

Kyle Fisher is days away from marrying Laura when his friends take him to Las Vegas for a bachelor party. What begins as a night of drinking and drugs turns into a disaster when a stripper hired for the occasion dies in their hotel room. Rather than call the police, the group follows the lead of Robert Boyd and buries the body in the desert, a decision that pulls them into a worsening chain of accidents and cover-ups as the wedding approaches.

Peter Berg wrote and directed the film, his first turn behind the camera. The cast includes Jon Favreau as Kyle, Cameron Diaz as Laura, Christian Slater as Boyd, and Jeremy Piven, Daniel Stern and Leland Orser among the friends. Berg went on to direct twelve further features, beginning with The Rundown in 2003.

Made for around 30 million dollars, the film took in roughly 10 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.3 out of 10 from about 51,000 votes, and on TMDB it also stands at 6.3 from a much smaller base of 714. A critics' rating of 6.1 from 57 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
