Reflection in a Dead Diamond

In a luxurious hotel on the Côte d'Azur, a charming seventy-year-old former secret agent named John lives a quiet retirement, absorbed in memories of his espionage days in the 1960s. His attention is drawn to the woman staying in the neighbouring room. When she vanishes without explanation, John finds himself haunted by recollections of a past full of glamour, danger and questionable characters, and he begins to suspect that old enemies may have resurfaced.

The film is directed by Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani, who also wrote the screenplay, following their earlier work on Amer (2009) and The ABCs of Death (2013). Fabio Testi plays the older John, with Yannick Renier as his younger self. Koen De Bouw, Maria de Medeiros, Thi-Mai Nguyen and Céline Camara round out the cast, and Pierre Foulon produced. The film runs 87 minutes and blends action, mystery and thriller elements.

Released in June 2025, it earned a 7.7 out of 10 from 45 critics' reviews, a stronger critical showing than its audience scores: 6.2 out of 10 on IMDb from around 2,000 votes and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 90 votes. The production involved companies across Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg and France.
