The Forgotten

Telly Paretta is a mother grieving the loss of her young son, who died in a plane crash. When her psychiatrist tells her that the boy never existed and that she invented years of memories about him, she sets out to find proof that he was real. Her search leads her to Ash Correll, a man who lost a child in the same crash and has been told the same thing. Together they try to establish that their children lived, even as the evidence around them seems to disappear.

Joseph Ruben directed the film, which sits between Return to Paradise and Penthouse North in his filmography. Gerald Di Pego wrote the screenplay, and Bruce Cohen, Dan Jinks and Joe Roth produced. Julianne Moore plays Telly, with Dominic West as Ash, Gary Sinise as Dr. Munce, Anthony Edwards as Telly's husband Jim, Alfre Woodard as Det. Anne Pope and Linus Roache as a man identified only as friendly. The film runs 91 minutes and was made for about 42 million dollars, taking roughly 118 million dollars worldwide.
