Marked for Death

John Hatcher is a Drug Enforcement Agency agent who steps away from the job after his partner is killed in the line of duty. He returns to his hometown intending to settle into a quiet life, but finds that drugs have taken hold of his old neighborhood. His efforts to push the dealers out put him in conflict with Screwface, a Jamaican drug lord, who responds by threatening Hatcher and his family. Hatcher, aided by his friend Max, sets out to confront the organization.

The film was directed by Dwight H. Little, its fourth feature following Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Bloodstone and The Phantom of the Opera, all released in the late 1980s. Michael Grais and Mark Victor wrote the screenplay and produced alongside star Steven Seagal, who plays Hatcher. Basil Wallace appears as Screwface, Keith David plays Max, and Tom Wright, Joanna Pacula and Elizabeth Gracen round out the main cast. Around 58 cast members and 156 crew members are credited.

Made for a budget of 12 million dollars, the film took in about 46 million dollars worldwide, a strong return relative to its cost. Audience reception has been modest, with a rating of 5.9 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 24,000 votes and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller sample of about 600. A critics' rating of 4 out of 10 from 11 reviews places it below the audience scores.
