Set at a secluded research station in the Arctic, this drama follows a captured entity forced into a military program of cruel experiments. While enduring these trials, the creature develops a romantic connection with a cleaner, who is the only person to treat him with compassion. These two marginalized figures share a desire to flee their bleak, dystopian environment.

The film was directed by Asif Kapadia, appearing as the sixth entry in a chronology that includes The Return, Far North, Senna, Amy, and Diego Maradona. It features Jeffrey Cirio, a principal dancer with the English National Ballet, in the title role, alongside Erina Takahashi, Stina Quagebeur, Ken Saruhashi, Fabian Reimair, and Victor Prigent.
