Soorarai Pottru

Soorarai Pottru follows Nedumaaran Rajangam, known to those close to him as Maara, the son of a teacher who sets out to make air travel possible for ordinary people. His ambition puts him up against the aviation industry, one of the most capital-intensive businesses in the world, and against powerful figures who want to see him fail. With support from his friends, his family and his own determination, he pursues a goal that seems out of reach for someone of his background.

The film is a Tamil-language action drama directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, who wrote the screenplay with Shalini Usha Devi. It was produced by Suriya, who also plays the lead role, with Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu, Urvashi and Karunas among the credited cast of twenty. It runs 149 minutes and was released in November 2020. It is the first film in the director's filmography listed here, followed by Sarfira and Parasakthi.

On IMDb it holds a rating of 8.6 from around 131,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.7 from a much smaller number of votes, which reflects a strong response from a large audience sample and a warmer reception on TMDB with far fewer ratings.
