Short description
Teenager Riley's mind headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.
What's left behind the scenes
- Phyllis Smith, who voiced Sadness, had already retired and did not want to travel to Los Angeles for voice work, so a recording studio was found for her in the state of Missouri.
- The initial script envisioned Riley attending a school event, but this was replaced with Riley going to hockey camp.
- Lili Gladstone, Sandra Hüller, Diane Kruger, Léa Seydoux, and Souheila Yacoub were considered for the voice of Disgust.
