A Walk to Remember
Short description
Landon Carter is a popular student at his high school in a small Southern town, while Jamie Sullivan is the quiet, deeply religious daughter of the local minister. After a prank goes wrong, Landon is assigned to take part in the school play as punishment, and he reluctantly turns to Jamie for help with his lines. She agrees, on the condition that he not fall in love with her. The two grow closer as they spend time together, and Landon finds himself drawn to someone his friends have always overlooked, forcing him to choose between his old crowd and the person he is becoming.
The film was directed by Adam Shankman, arriving between The Wedding Planner and Bringing Down the House. Mandy Moore and Shane West lead the cast, with Peter Coyote, Daryl Hannah, Lauren German and Clayne Crawford in supporting roles. Karen Janszen wrote the screenplay, and Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry produced. Made for roughly 12 million dollars, it took in about 47 million worldwide, a solid return on its budget.
Audiences have responded warmly: on IMDb it holds a 7.3 from around 231,000 votes, and on TMDB a 7.7 from over 4,300 votes. Critics, rating it 4.8 out of 10 across 105 reviews, were considerably less enthusiastic than viewers.

- The film's director, Adam Shankman, appears in a cameo. He plays an orderly wheeling a wheelchair in which Mandy Moore's character is sitting.
