Piece of My Heart

Set in 1970s Amsterdam, this drama follows two young dancers, Irma and Olga, who join a highly competitive royal ballet company. While both are ambitious, Olga's natural talent and presence quickly propel her to stardom as a soloist. However, the pressure to maintain strict professional standards leads Olga toward a dangerous path of weight loss and substance abuse. As Olga struggles with the darker consequences of her fame, Irma must navigate her own position in the background while supporting her friend through a downward spiral.

The film was directed by Dana Nechushtan, following her 2008 film Dunya & Desie and preceding her 2026 project The Perfect Lie. The screenplay was written by Roos Ouwehand. The main cast features Roos Englebert as Olga van Heemst and Elaine Meijerink as Irma Roeters, with supporting performances by Katelijne Damen, Peter Paul Muller, Daniël Boissevain, and Yannick Jozefzoon.

Produced by Topkapi Films, NTR, and Eyeworks Film & TV Drama, the movie is a joint production between the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Netherlands Antilles. With a runtime of 114 minutes, the film has received a generally positive response from viewers, holding a rating of 6.8/10 on IMDb based on 311 votes.
