An American Tail: Fievel Goes West

The Mousekewitz family, Russian emigrant mice, have settled in New York but find life there no easier than before, with cats still a constant danger. Lured by promises of a West where mice and cats live side by side, they set out for a new home. The offer comes from a scheming cat, Cat R. Waul, who has his own plans for the settlers. Fievel, the family's young son, grows suspicious of the arrangement. Separated from his family along the way, he eventually teams up with the aging lawman Wylie Burp, alongside his friend Tiger, the cat who remains loyal to the mice. Simon Wells and Phil Nibbelink directed this animated sequel, the first feature from Amblimation and the opening entry in both directors' filmographies, with Flint Dille writing and Steven Spielberg and Robert Watts producing.

The voice cast includes Phillip Glasser as Fievel, James Stewart as Wylie Burp, Dom DeLuise as Tiger, Erica Yohn, Cathy Cavadini and Nehemiah Persoff as Fievel's family, among 25 credited cast members and 101 credited crew. The film runs 75 minutes and took 41 million dollars worldwide. On TMDB it holds 6.3 out of 10 from 813 votes, while a critics' rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 14 reviews places it slightly below the audience score, showing broad but moderate approval rather than strong acclaim.
