Ninety-Five Senses

Ninety-Five Senses is a short animated drama about an older man named Coy, who looks back on his life while confronting his own approaching death. He reflects on the serious mistakes he made when he was young, and his memories are organised around the five senses, which he savours as his time to enjoy them runs short. The film runs fourteen minutes and was released in August 2022.

It was directed by Jared Hess and Jerusha Hess. It sits between Jared Hess's Masterminds and Thelma the Unicorn, and it is Jerusha Hess's second feature directing credit after Austenland; the screenplay is by Hubbel Palmer and Chris Bowman. Coy is voiced by Tim Blake Nelson, the film's main cast member.

The film is an American production from MAST Salt Lake Film Society and V42 Venture Studio Fund. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.4 out of 10 from around 1,800 votes, and on TMDB it also stands at 7.4 out of 10, from a much smaller base of 37 votes. The two scores agree closely, though the TMDB figure rests on far fewer responses and is therefore the less settled of the two.
