Mommy’s Lambie is a Turkish drama centered on Murat, a thirty-year-old man currently serving time in prison. He is haunted by recurring nightmares and memories of his youth. The story explores how Murat internalized the childhood traumas of his mother, who viewed him as her future savior. This psychological burden is compounded by the influence of his father, who had remarried and attempted to force Murat into maturity when he was only seven years old. A central conflict revolves around a circumcision ceremony that was intended as a celebration but instead became a traumatic experience for the boy.
Directed by Umut Evirgen, who also co-wrote the screenplay and served as a producer, the film features Kubilay Aka in the lead role of Murat, with Burak Ali Özkan playing the character as a child. The supporting cast includes Selin Şekerci, Necip Memili, Ahmet Tansu Taşanlar, and Aysel Yıldırım. Produced by MEDYAPIM and Set Sanat, the movie has a runtime of 80 minutes. On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 4.5/10 based on 548 votes.
