The Tenderness

Queen Esmeralda seeks to protect her two daughters from the restrictions she believes men impose on women. While traveling by ship, she uses magic to create a storm, leading the group to an island they believe is empty. Upon arriving, they discover a lumberjack and his two sons who harbor a deep dislike for women. To survive the encounter, Esmeralda and the princesses disguise themselves as officers. Their deception eventually unravels through a series of romantic and comedic events.

The film was written and directed by Vicente Villanueva, following his previous works Toc Toc, When Brooklyn Met Seville, and The Key Game. It stars Emma Suárez, Gonzalo de Castro, Alexandra Jiménez, Fernando Guallar, Anna Moliner, and Carlos Cuevas. This Spanish and Dominican Republic co-production was produced by Omar de la Cruz, Gonzalo Gilsanz, and Yvette Marichal.

Since its release in 2023, the movie has received a moderate reception from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 5.4/10 based on 229 votes, while on TMDB it has a slightly higher score of 6/10 from 13 votes.
