The Burdened

Set during the civil war in Yemen, this drama follows Isra'a and Ahmed, parents of three children. When Isra'a discovers she is pregnant again while the couple struggles financially, they decide she should have an abortion. This choice leads to significant hardships and strain within their marriage and their broader lives.

Directed by Amr Gamal, who also co-wrote the screenplay and served as a producer, the film features Khaled Hamdan as Ahmed and Abeer Mohammed as Isra'a. The supporting cast includes Awsam Abdulrahman, Samah Alamrani, Saleem Islam, and Roaa Al-Hamshari. A joint production between Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, the movie was produced by the Red Sea Fund, Adenium Productions, and Station Films.
