The film uses a fragment from Quentin Tarantino's drama 'Reservoir Dogs' (1991). Director Peter O' Fallon was permitted to make borrowings only from films whose rights are owned by Artisan Entertainment.
Denis Leary improvised almost all of his character's lines.
Several different endings were filmed for the movie. The theatrical version used the ending that test audiences liked the most; all others can be found on the DVD releases.
When the power goes out for the first time, the clock on the microwave continues to work.
In the final scene, the swim trunks worn by Sean Patrick Flanery switch between yellowish-brown and dark green.
The placement of the adhesive tape wrapped around the character played by Christopher Walken constantly changes from shot to shot.
