Short description
Jay Kelly follows a famous movie star who travels across Europe with his loyal manager, Ron. As the actor approaches a career tribute at an Italian film festival, he undergoes a period of introspection. The journey forces him to confront his personal history, the choices he has made, and the people who shaped his life while attempting to better understand himself.
Directed by Noah Baumbach, this comedy-drama is the 13th of 14 films he has directed, following White Noise and preceding The Making of Jay Kelly. The screenplay was written by Baumbach and Emily Mortimer. The film stars George Clooney in the title role alongside Adam Sandler as Ron, with Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, and Grace Edwards in the main cast. A total of 97 cast members and 114 crew members are credited in the production, which was produced by Heyday Films, Pascal Pictures, and NB/GG Pictures.
The film received generally positive feedback from both viewers and reviewers. It holds a rating of 6.5/10 on IMDb based on 38,000 votes and a 6.1/10 on TMDB from 468 votes. Film critics gave the movie a slightly higher score of 7/10 based on 234 reviews.

- Filming took place in the USA, England, and Italy from March to May 2024.
- George Clooney, who played the lead role, signed a contract to participate in the project within 24 hours of receiving the script. He was embarrassed that Noah Baumbach (director, screenwriter, and producer) usually shot many takes of each scene. Clooney believed that this was unnecessary given his age and experience. He told Baumbach as much, stating that "he was already 63 years old and couldn't play each scene 50 times."
- In the final scene of the film, excerpts from movies starring George Clooney are projected onto the screen.
