Short description
Toy Story 5 follows Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and their friends as they face a new challenge to their role in Bonnie's life. After Bonnie receives a Lilypad tablet, the device captures her attention and threatens the traditional way of playing. The toys must work together to compete against this new piece of technology to regain their place in the child's world, while being joined by a new character named Smarty Pants.
The film was directed by Andrew Stanton, who also wrote the screenplay with McKenna Jean Harris. This project is the fifth film directed by Stanton, following Finding Nemo, WALL·E, John Carter, and Finding Dory. The voice cast includes Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Greta Lee, Scarlett Spears, and Conan O'Brien. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar, the movie had a budget of 250 million USD and earned 1.14 billion USD at the worldwide box office.

What's left behind the scenes
- The school bus license plate 'TS-112295' is a reference to the release date of the first film in the franchise – November 22, 1995.
- With the screenwriters' blessing, Joan Cusack (who voiced Jessie) helped write her character's lines to make them truly funny and consistent with the persona. According to McKenna Harris (credited as one of the directors and writers), Cusack's suggestions regarding the lines were simply magnificent and fit Jessie's image perfectly.
- Tim Allen did not like the ending of Toy Story 4 (2019) and suggested changing it so that Woody the cowboy's parting from the other toys would be temporary. However, this idea was rejected. In the end, it was decided that the toys could communicate with Woody via walkie-talkies. Thus, the separation did not truly become final.
- The character voiced by Conan O'Brien was originally created for potty training children.
- According to Tim Allen (who voiced Buzz Lightyear in the franchise films), while working on the project, he was subtly hinted that his character was starting to sound a bit 'old'. Allen was 73 at the time, and his voice had indeed changed. He had to undergo vocal cord training to restore the confident sound that had already become canonical.
