Aavesham

Three young men arrive in Bangalore to study engineering and quickly become targets for their seniors' harassment. Unable to put an end to it themselves, they seek help from a local criminal don, Ranga, whose unpredictable, eccentric personality draws them into a strange friendship. The arrangement pulls the students into the gangster's world even as it promises the payback they wanted.

Aavesham is an Indian action comedy drama directed by Jithu Madhavan, who also wrote the screenplay. Chronologically it is the first of the two films he has directed, followed by Scene. It was produced by Anwar Rasheed and Nazriya Nazim through the companies Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Anwar Rasheed Entertainments. Fahadh Faasil leads the cast as Ranjith Gangadharan, known as Ranga, alongside Hipster, Mithun Jai Sankar, Roshan Shanavas, Sajin Gopu and Midhun Midhutty. The film runs 156 minutes and was made for about 3 million dollars.

Released in April 2024, the film has been widely seen and well liked by viewers. It holds a rating of 7.8 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 33,000 votes, and 7.5 out of 10 on TMDB from around 106 votes, with the much larger IMDb sample pointing to a broad, durable response.
