The Mystery of the Med Rings

This documentary follows a scientific expedition to the waters near Corsica to investigate the origin of hundreds of massive, circular formations found on the seabed. Located 120 meters deep, these mysterious rings are the focus of a multidisciplinary study led by diver and naturalist Laurent Ballesta. Along with a team of divers and scientists, Ballesta uses specialized deep-sea equipment to explore these unknown structures and determine how they were created.

The film was directed by Yann Rineau, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Aurine Crémieu and Laurent Ballesta. The production was a collaboration between ARTE, LGB, and Andromède Océanologie in France. The cast features Laurent Ballesta and several other team members, including Sarah-Jane Sauvegrain, Antonin Guilbert, Thibault Rauby, and Roberto Rinaldi, appearing as themselves. Released on October 21, 2024, the film has a runtime of 91 minutes.
