Picture Mommy Dead

Susan Shelley returns home from the psychiatric hospital where she was treated after the shock of her mother Jessica's death in a fire. Her father Edward has remarried, and his new wife Francene, along with her lover Anthony, has designs on the family fortune, much of which has already been spent. Susan remains haunted by memories of her mother, and the scheming around her only deepens her distress. The film is a gothic-tinged horror thriller set in an old mansion, built around inheritance, greed and a troubled young woman's fragile mind.

Bert I. Gordon directed and produced, with Robert Sherman writing the screenplay. It followed Gordon's earlier genre work such as Earth vs. the Spider and Tormented, and the cast includes Don Ameche as Edward, Martha Hyer as Francene, Zsa Zsa Gabor as Jessica, Wendell Corey as the family lawyer, and Susan Gordon as Susan. The film runs 82 minutes.
