Dear Santa
Short description
A young boy named Liam writes a holiday letter asking for proof that Santa Claus is real. Due to a spelling error, the message is accidentally sent to Satan instead. Pleased to receive a fan letter, Satan arrives at the boy's home and causes chaos in the town while attempting to claim a portion of Liam's soul.
This fantasy comedy was directed by Bobby Farrelly and represents the 13th of 14 films he has directed, following Champions and preceding Driver's Ed. The screenplay was written by Ricky Blitt and Peter Farrelly. The film stars Jack Black as Satan and Robert Timothy Smith as Liam Turner, with a supporting cast that includes Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, and P.J. Byrne. Produced by Paramount, the Farrelly Brothers, and Kraymation Films, the movie has a runtime of 108 minutes.
Audience reception was mixed to positive, with a rating of 6.2/10 on TMDB and a lower score of 5.4/10 on IMDb based on 22,000 votes. Film critics gave the movie a significantly lower rating of 3.9/10 from 21 reviews.
