28 Years Later

Set nearly three decades after a biological weapon known as the Rage virus escaped a laboratory, the story takes place in a world under strict quarantine. A group of survivors lives on a small island, which is linked to the mainland by a single, heavily guarded causeway. When one resident leaves this sanctuary on a mission into the mainland, he encounters various horrors and discovers that mutations have affected both the infected and the remaining humans.

Directed by Danny Boyle, this project is the 16th of 17 films in his career, following Free Your Mind: The Matrix Now and preceding Ink. The screenplay was written by Alex Garland, who also served as a producer alongside Boyle and Andrew Macdonald. The cast features Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Cillian Murphy, Alfie Williams, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer, and Jack O'Connell.

Produced by Columbia Pictures, TSG Entertainment, DNA Films, and Decibel Films, the movie had a budget of 60 million USD and earned 151 million USD at the worldwide box office. It holds a rating of 6.6/10 on IMDb based on 203,000 votes and a matching 6.6/10 on TMDB from 2,975 votes. Film critics gave the movie a higher rating of 7.4/10 across 399 reviews.
