Internal Affairs

Internal Affairs is a 1990 crime drama about a Los Angeles police officer assigned to the department that investigates other officers. Raymond Avila joins Internal Affairs and, with his partner Amy Wallace, begins looking into Dennis Peck, a fellow officer whose finances and conduct suggest involvement in criminal activity. Peck is a manipulative man with a talent for drawing people into his orbit, and he soon turns his attention toward Avila personally, escalating the conflict between the two men.

The film was directed by Mike Figgis, following his debut Stormy Monday, and was written by Henry Bean. Richard Gere plays Dennis Peck and Andy García plays Raymond Avila, with Nancy Travis as Kathleen Avila, Laurie Metcalf as Amy Wallace, Richard Bradford as Grieb and William Baldwin as Van Stretch. It was made for about 15 million dollars and took roughly 28 million worldwide.
