Tai-Chi Master

Two childhood friends are exiled from the Shaolin Temple after violating monastery rules. As adults, their paths diverge sharply when one joins the imperial army and the other aligns with a group of rebels. This separation leads them to opposite sides of a civil war, where a betrayal forces the former friends into a final personal confrontation to settle their conflict.

Directed by Woo-Ping Yuen, this was the seventh of 13 films he directed, following Iron Monkey and preceding True Legend. The movie stars Jet Li, who also served as a producer, alongside Michelle Yeoh and Chin Siu-ho. Produced by Orange Sky Golden Harvest and Eastern Productions, the film was released in Hong Kong in 1993 with a runtime of 96 minutes.

The film is well-received by audiences, holding a 7.2 rating on IMDb based on 12,000 votes and a matching 7.2 rating on TMDB from 281 votes. Film critics gave it a slightly lower score of 6.8 based on 6 reviews.
