Locust

Locust is a drama and thriller set in Taiwan during the 2019 Hong Kong protests. The story follows Zhong-Han, a quiet young man who balances working at his family restaurant with activities in the Taipei criminal underworld. When a suspicious businessman attempts to purchase the restaurant, Zhong-Han becomes entangled in a series of events that force him to confront corruption and power struggles within his country.

The film was directed by KEFF, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Junu Wu. This production is the second film directed by KEFF, following Taipei Suicide Story released in 2020. The movie is a co-production between Qatar, the United States, Taiwan, and France, involving production companies such as Cinereach, MK2 Films, DFI, and Kindred Spirit. The cast is led by Wilson Liu in the role of Zhong-Han, appearing alongside Rimong Ihwar as I-Ju, Devin Pan as Kobe, Yu An-shun as Ah-Rong, and Wu Yi-jung as Yu-Jie. The film was released on July 30, 2025, with a total runtime of 120 minutes.
