Love Lies

A widowed gynecologist who has lived in isolation for several years begins a romantic relationship online with a man named Joe. Joe presents himself as a middle-aged French petroleum engineer, but the relationship is actually an internet scam. Despite losing a significant amount of money to the fraud, the woman maintains that her feelings of love remain genuine.

This romantic comedy marks the directorial debut of Ho Miu-Kei, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Chan Hing-Kai. The film was produced by One Cool Film Production and the Film Development Fund of HK. The cast features Sandra Ng Kwan-Yue as Veronica Yu and MC Cheung as Joe, alongside Stephy Tang Lai-Yan, Chan Fai-hung, Emotion Cheung Kam-Ching, and Ronald Cheng.

Released on August 23, 2024, the Hong Kong production has a runtime of 114 minutes. It earned 2 million USD at the worldwide box office.
