Heretic

Heretic follows two young Mormon missionaries, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton, who go door to door to share their faith. When they call on the seemingly mild-mannered Mr. Reed, they find themselves trapped inside his home and drawn into a psychological contest over what they believe. The film was released on October 31, 2024, and runs 111 minutes.

It was directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who also wrote the screenplay and produced it with Stacey Sher. The film is their third feature as directors, following Haunt (2019) and 65 (2023). Hugh Grant plays Mr. Reed, with Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East as the two missionaries and Topher Grace as Elder Kennedy. A24 is among the production companies.

Made for a budget of about 10 million dollars, the film earned roughly 52 million dollars worldwide, a strong return relative to its cost. On TMDB it holds a rating of 7 out of 10 from 2,893 votes, indicating a generally favorable audience response.
