Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo

Deuce Bigalow has settled back into his old job cleaning aquariums, but an incident involving dolphins forces him to leave the country. His former associate T.J. Hicks, now in Amsterdam, invites him to Europe, where Deuce learns that someone is targeting the city's male escorts and that T.J. has become a suspect. To clear his friend's name, Deuce goes back undercover in the gigolo trade, posing as one of the escorts while trying to identify the real culprit, and meets a woman named Eva along the way. Rob Schneider stars as Deuce, with Eddie Griffin as T.J., alongside Jeroen Krabbé, Til Schweiger, Douglas Sills and Carlos Ponce.

Mike Bigelow directed the film, from a screenplay by Schneider, Jason Ward and David Garrett, with Adam Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and John Schneider producing. It followed Bigelow's earlier work behind the camera, and was made for a budget of 22 million dollars, going on to take about 45 million worldwide. Audience responses were modest: on IMDb it holds 4.7 out of 10 from roughly 56,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.3 out of 10 from around a thousand. A critics' rating of 3.2 out of 10, drawn from 98 reviews, sits below both audience scores.
