The I Inside

After a severe car accident, Simon Cable wakes in a hospital with no memory of the previous two years. He is told his brother has died, that he is married to a woman he does not recognise, and that another woman claims a place in his life he cannot recall. Doctors and police take an interest in the circumstances surrounding the crash, and Simon finds that fragments of the missing time return to him in unsettling episodes that seem to let him move backwards through his own past. Piecing those fragments together becomes his only way to work out what happened to his brother and what part he himself may have played in it.

The film is a mystery thriller with science-fiction elements, directed by Roland Suso Richter from a screenplay by Michael Cooney and Timothy Scott Bogart. It followed Richter's The Tunnel and came before later titles including Jungle Child and Secret of the Midwife. Ryan Phillippe leads as Simon, with Sarah Polley, Piper Perabo, Robert Sean Leonard and Stephen Rea among the supporting cast.

Produced on a budget of about 9 million dollars by companies including Dimension Films and Miramax, the film drew modest audience scores: 6 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 12,000 votes and 5.9 out of 10 on TMDB from close to 300 votes. Its running time is 90 minutes.
