Walled Off is a documentary that explores a hidden museum located within an art hotel created by the artist Banksy. The film uses this setting to examine the conditions of life under Israeli military occupation in Palestine. By moving between the hotel, the region, and historical contexts, the narrative seeks to challenge the perspective of mainstream media regarding the Palestinian quest for equality and freedom.
The project was directed by Vin Arfuso and produced by Roger Waters, Kweku Mandela, and Anwar Hadid. It is a joint production between Watermelon Pictures, Birthright Palestine, and Rhimsh Films from the United States and Palestine. The film features a variety of figures appearing as themselves, including Wisam Salsaa, while incorporating archive footage of Yasser Arafat, Bernie Sanders, Jon Stewart, and Elton John. The finished work has a runtime of 90 minutes.
