The Replacement Killers
Short description
A hired killer named John Lee works for Terence Wei, a crime boss in Chinatown. When Wei orders him to kill the young son of police detective Stan Zedkov, Lee cannot go through with it and spares the boy. Knowing that Wei will punish him by targeting his family in China, Lee goes on the run and turns to Meg Coburn, a skilled forger, for the papers he needs to leave the country. Wei sends other gunmen after him, and Lee and Meg find themselves hunted by both the criminals and the police.
The Replacement Killers was released in 1998 and runs 87 minutes. It is an American action crime thriller produced by Columbia Pictures, WCG Entertainment Productions and Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, with Brad Grey and Bernie Brillstein as producers and a screenplay by Ken Sanzel. Antoine Fuqua directed; it is the second of the 19 films he has directed, following Inside Out 4 and preceding Bait. Chow Yun-fat plays John Lee, with Mira Sorvino as Meg Coburn, Michael Rooker as Stan Zedkov, Kenneth Tsang as Terence Wei, Jürgen Prochnow as Michael Kogan and Til Schweiger as Ryker. The film had a budget of 30 million US dollars and took about 19 million worldwide.
