Following a difficult divorce and the loss of her position at a prestigious school, Candela returns to her old neighborhood. She begins teaching at her former high school, where she works with a group of rebellious students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the game of chess, she helps these outsiders strive to become national champions while discovering that social status is irrelevant in both the game and in life.
This Spanish comedy was directed by Nacho G. Velilla, following his previous work on films such as Off Course and Por los pelos. The screenplay was written by Velilla along with David S.
