Roma Blues

Set in a hot, cluttered Rome, this comedy follows Al, a man who believes he is destined for greatness. After his ambitions for his rock band fail, he discovers a mobile phone containing evidence of a crime. Drawing on his knowledge of noir fiction, Al attempts to solve the case. Along the way, he connects with Betty, an adventure-seeking outsider, via a dating app. Together, the two search for their place in the world while pursuing a mystery that eventually proves too difficult for them to handle.

The film was written and directed by Gianluca Manzetti, marking the first of two listed works in his career before the 2025 film Dedalus. The production was a collaboration between RAI Cinema, MiC, Eliofilm, and Art Film Kairos. The cast features Francesco Gheghi in the role of Al and Mikaela Neaze Silva as Betty, with supporting performances by Mino Caprio, Fabrizio Ciavoni, Gabriele Fiore, and Federico Rosati. Released on June 6, 2024, the movie has a runtime of 86 minutes.
