Spermworld follows three men who take part in an online network where sperm donors connect with people hoping to have a child. The documentary moves through forums, roadside motels, abandoned shopping malls and suburban bathrooms across the United States, observing meetings in which donors and prospective parents exchange more than genetic material. Steve Walker, Tyree Kelly, Rachel Stanley, Atasha Peña Clay and Ari Nagel appear as themselves.
Lance Oppenheim directed and co-wrote the film with Daniel Garber, and produced it with Lauren Belfer. It is his second feature, following Some Kind of Heaven in 2021 and preceding Primetime and You Can See Everything, both from 2026. The production companies are FX Productions, Edgeline Films, The New York Times and To Be Formed. The film runs 85 minutes and was released on February 29, 2024.
On TMDB, the film holds a rating of 6.8 out of 10 from 15 votes, a small sample reflecting a modest audience response.
