Fair Game
Short description
Fair Game is an action film set in Miami, where Kate McQueen, a civil attorney, finds herself targeted by a group of former KGB operatives. Her troubles begin after she takes legal action involving a client's husband's boat, which interferes with the group's plans. Detective Max Kirkpatrick is assigned to protect her, and the two go on the run together as the pursuers keep finding them. The gang is led by a former KGB colonel named Ilya Kazak.
The film was directed by Andrew Sipes, his first feature as director, from a screenplay by Charlie Fletcher, with Joel Silver producing for Warner Bros. Pictures and Silver Pictures. William Baldwin plays Max Kirkpatrick, Cindy Crawford plays Kate McQueen, and Steven Berkoff plays Colonel Kazak, with Christopher McDonald, Miguel Sandoval and Johann Carlo among the credited cast of 32. It runs 91 minutes.
Released on November 3, 1995, Fair Game cost about 50 million dollars to make but took in roughly 12 million worldwide, a sharp shortfall. On IMDb it holds a 4.3 rating from more than 13,000 votes, and on TMDB a 5.2 from 349 votes, while a critics' rating of 3.1 from 26 reviews places it below even those audience scores, making it a poorly received entry in the mid-1990s action lineup.
