This documentary examines a family crisis that began in 1983 when the director's older sister began showing signs of schizophrenia. Rather than seeking professional medical help, the parents chose to hide the condition by confining their daughter inside the family home, eventually securing the front door with a padlock. To challenge their parents and seek the truth, the director, who was the younger brother, used a camera to record the household. This tension and family struggle continued for more than two decades.
Directed by Tomoaki Fujino, the film features Fujino and Masako Fujino appearing as themselves. The production was a collaboration between the Japanese companies Zou-shima and TOFOO FILMS, LLC. Released on December 7, 2024, the film has a total runtime of 102 minutes.
