Short description
The angel Gabriel comes to Earth to collect a soul which will end the stalemated war in Heaven, and only a former priest and a little girl can stop him.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film was shot in 1993, but was not released until 1995. The Weinstein brothers, founders of the Miramax distribution company that handled the film's distribution, typically took a year or two break after filming, during which time the films were edited and re-edited.
- When the Archangel Gabriel, played by Christopher Walken, first meets Jerry, the camera shows Jerry's house. For a moment, a photograph of Jerry, played by Adam Goldberg, with a girlfriend flashes on the screen. Neither the girlfriend nor even her name is mentioned anywhere in the film. In fact, Michelle Spadaro, the film's set decorator, starred alongside Jerry.
