Set in Joseon during the Japanese occupation, this comedy follows Ho-chang, a scholar who discovers baseball after seeing missionaries and a woman named Jeong-rim play the sport. Drawn to both the game and Jeong-rim, he helps organize the first YMCA baseball team. The group consists of diverse individuals from various social backgrounds who find success on the field. As the team wins more matches, their athletic pursuit evolves into a symbol of resistance against the military occupation.
The film was written and directed by Kim Hyun-seok, marking the first of three listed directorial efforts, followed by C'est Si Bon and I Can Speak.
