Limits of Europe

A Czech journalist named Saša Uhlová leaves her home and family to live undercover as a migrant worker in Western Europe. By taking low-wage jobs, including working on a German asparagus farm, cleaning rooms in an Irish hotel, and caring for the elderly in France, she examines the hardships faced by Eastern Europeans. The film explores the systemic exploitation of these workers and the personal toll of economic migration on those forced to leave their children and parents behind to support Western European comfort.

This documentary was directed and written by Apolena Rychlíková and produced by companies including ARTE and Česká televize. It is a co-production between Slovakia, France, and the Czech Republic, featuring Saša Uhlová appearing as herself. The film has a runtime of 98 minutes and was released on April 4, 2024.
