Gaucho Gaucho is a documentary that explores the lives of gauchos, the traditional cowboys and cowgirls of the Argentine mountains. The film focuses on a small community of horse-riding families who remain deeply connected to nature and their heritage. It examines the relationship between the people, their animals, and the landscape, while highlighting the effort of younger generations to maintain their cultural identity as the modern world changes around them.
The film was co-directed by Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw, following their previous collaboration on The Truffle Hunters in 2020. It precedes their 2026 project, Burgundy. The production was a joint effort between companies from Argentina, Greece, and the United States, with Matthew Perniciaro, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos, and Dweck serving as producers. The cast features Guada Gonza, Tati Gonza, Jony Avalos, and Solano Avalos appearing as themselves. Released on October 25, 2024, the documentary has a runtime of 85 minutes.
