Never Look Away

Never Look Away is a documentary about Margaret Moth, a New Zealand-born camera operator for CNN who traveled into war zones to capture the realities of conflict. The film explores her determination to document these dangers and her subsequent struggle to return to her profession after sustaining severe injuries during a battle. This portrait of a photojournalist includes interviews with friends and family, as well as CNN's Christiane Amanpour.

The film was directed by Lucy Lawless, who also served as a producer. The screenplay was written by Tom Blackwell, Matthew Metcalfe, and Whetham Allpress. In addition to Amanpour, the cast features Stefano Kotsonis and Jeff Russi, with Margaret Moth appearing via archive footage. Produced by Greenwich Entertainment in New Zealand, the project had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and was released on November 8, 2024, with a total runtime of 85 minutes.
