The Wendell Baker Story

Wendell Baker is a good-natured Texan who makes his living selling false identities to undocumented immigrants, a trade he sees as a helpful service rather than a crime. When it lands him in prison, he treats the sentence as an easy rest, until his longtime girlfriend Doreen decides she has had enough and leaves him. Determined to win her back and start over honestly, Wendell takes a job at a retirement hotel, where he befriends three elderly residents. They agree to help him in his efforts to recover Doreen, while he in turn takes their side against the corruption and mistreatment coming from the hotel's management.
