This documentary follows Runa, a sixteen-year-old Kurdish girl who fled Iraq to escape ISIS. While attempting to reach Poland, her family became trapped on the border between Belarus and Poland, where her mother died. Forced to mature quickly, Runa becomes the primary caregiver for her father and four younger brothers. The film explores their struggles within a refugee camp, including the threat of deportation and Runa's goal of studying law. Her internal emotions and experiences are depicted through animated drawings she created herself.
Agnieszka Zwiefka wrote and directed the film, which is the second of two features she has directed, following Vika! in 2023. The production was a collaboration between companies in Germany, Denmark, Poland, and the Czech Republic, including ARTE and SWR. The cast consists of Runa Husni and other members of the Husni family appearing as themselves. The project involved a credited crew of 46 people and has a total runtime of 84 minutes.
