The Correspondent

This drama thriller follows Peter Greste, an Australian journalist working for Al Jazeera in Cairo. In December 2013, while reporting on the Arab Spring, Greste is arrested and accused of terrorism. He finds himself trapped in a dangerous conflict involving corrupt officials and long-standing rivalries, relying on his intellect to survive his imprisonment.

Directed by Kriv Stenders, this film is the fourth project in a chronological sequence that includes Red Dog, Kill Me Three Times, and Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan, preceding Joh: Last King of Queensland. The screenplay was written by Peter Duncan and produced by Carmel Travers.
