Invisible People

Invisible People is an experimental documentary exploring the Japanese contemporary dance form known as Butoh. The film blends portraits of various performers and masters with the philosophical writings of Tatsumi Hijikata, touching on themes of prayer, eroticism, and anonymity. A central focus is placed on Yoshito Ohno, the son of Butoh founder Kazuo Ohno, who passed away while the movie was being filmed. As the narrative progresses, the focus shifts from the specific art form toward a broader observation of human existence, fate, and the unexpected connections between people.
